Daniel F. Soteres, MD MPH is a board-certified allergy/immunology physician with offices in Colorado Springs and Pueblo. He has been in private practice at Asthma and Allergy Associates and Research Center since 2005. He is a Clinical Professor on faculty at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. He is currently the Secretary/Treasurer of the Colorado Allergy Asthma Society. His interests in the medical field range from the joy of clinical practice and taking care of patients to the challenges and academic rigor associated with research. He also believes in the importance of community service and he has many volunteer commitments.

Dr. Soteres received his Medical Degree in 1998 from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He simultaneously earned a Master's degree in Public Health. He completed a four-year combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He was a chief resident in Internal Medicine. He completed his allergy and immunology fellowship at Tulane. He is board-certified in Allergy and Immunology.

In the clinic he takes care of adults and children. He helps diagnose and treat asthma, exercise-induced asthma and other respiratory problems, environmental and food allergies, skin disorders, and immunologic diseases. He enjoys helping people with the ordinary as well as rare and complicated diseases. His clinic has become a good place for people who have not been able to find answers at other offices.

Research has always been an interest for him. He has been a primary investigator for studies of asthma, allergy and Hereditary Angioedema. He has also studied treatments for COPD and migraine. He participates in many national Advisory Boards.

Volunteer accomplishments include founding a support group for families of kids with severe food allergy called MOSAIC (Mothers of Severely Allergic Infants and Children), organizing a local journal club for allergy doctors in the region, mentoring medical and physician assistant students, participating in the D20 physician advisory board. He volunteers in his children's classrooms and he is a boy scout leader and assistant soccer coach as well.

He encourages all of his patients to maintain a high quality of life and can frequently be heard telling them, "Get up. Get out and get to it." He is an advocate of natural and medical therapies for all diseases. His guiding principle in clinic is simple: "I try to consider the whole patient while treating their allergic, respiratory and immune system problems."

Dr. Soteres was featured at the District 20 Allergy Summit this November.  Click on this article to read more.

Patients must always be given ample opportunity to discuss why they are seeing me. In return, it is my obligation to explain what role allergies are playing in their symptoms, and how best to deal with them."

Dr. Webb moved to Colorado in 2010 where he practiced pediatric and adult allergy and immunology at Evans Army Community Hospital until he joined Asthma and Allergy Associates of Colorado Springs in 2012.

During his fellowship training at Walter Reed, his research focused on pediatric and adult asthma, urticaria (hives), and special vaccine considerations in young children with food allergies. He has also published articles and book chapters in anaphylaxis (severe allergic reactions), asthma, juvenile systemic sclerosis and autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome, also known as ALPS. This last area of interest came from his patient experiences at the National Institutes of Health in Washington, D.C.

While in medical school, he was awarded as a Canon Scholar, chosen by his peers and instructors for compassion, patient care and scholarship. He says that the most rewarding aspect of allergy and immunology is the opportunity to see patients ranging from newborns to geriatrics. “This allows me to take care of each generation of the family, often seeing parents and children from the same family for allergic or immune system issues.”
